Training

At Kinley Consulting, we believe that people learn best when they are taught by someone who has real-world experience on the subject. All of our training courses have been designed by people with extensive practical experience. The instructors are also expert practitioners. This ensures that our courses are not dry and academic, and most importantly that delegates take away a practical understanding of the subject and know how to apply this in the workplace.

The Kinley Approach to Training

Our approach to training is different. We offer off-the-shelf training and bespoke courses, so there is something to suit the needs of every organisation. Every course, however, is practical, with hand-on experience of the tools.

Kinley instructors use real-life examples to illustrate the ways that the system functionality can be applied every day. We do this because we believe that there is no point spending valuable time highlighting clever features without showing how they can be used to deliver business benefit.

Our approach is centered on creating learning experiences that can be applied immediately in the workplace. We want our clients to spend less time in the classroom, achieve better results and spend less money on the change and training effort. We believe our approach helps you do that.

In the Classroom

We know that it is an investment to send people on training courses. And spending the day listening to a presentation is not the most effective way to learn. Our instructors focus on the ‘why’ as well as the ‘how’ so participants know exactly why they are performing particular tasks. We use scenarios based on real projects so the sample data is as realistic as possible. That also means introducing deliberate mistakes into our case studies so that delegates have the opportunity to practice problem solving. After all, things often go wrong in real life, and it is better to learn from mistakes in a safe environment than on the job.

All of our delegates receive a detailed training manual which doubles up as an effective reference guide once the course has ended. Delegates tell us how these manuals become an essential desk guide, and they are in use long after the course has finished. Delegates can also keep the sample files and data sets created in the classroom as reference guides.

Bespoke Training

At Kinley, we can tailor our courses to align with your project management processes. We will make sure that the training material complements and supports your earned value management methodology, the tools in use, the organisational structure and governance models. We can even use terminology and case studies specific to your organisation. This means that delegates leave the training understanding how their new skills and knowledge fit within the existing organisational frameworks. They know what needs to be done, when it should be done and most importantly, why. We believe that this reduces resistance to change which gives your new enterprise systems the best chance of success.
